Father Gus Campanello - Parish Priest

"I am currently the priest in charge of the churches of St Mary’s (Crowborough), St Philip’s (Uckfield), and St John the Evangelist (Heron’s Ghyll).

I was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Richard Moth at Arundel Cathedral on 22nd June 2024.

For the first nine months of my ministry, I served as an assistant priest in Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, where a great deal of my work was with the two Catholic primary schools in the area, alongside my other priestly responsibilities.

Part of my responsibility in my short period as a priest has included pastoral work with the homeless, hospitals, and care homes, as well as catechetical work with children, teenagers, and adults."

Rev David Tutt - Deacon

Deacon David assists Father Gus in the parishes of Our Lady Immaculate and St Philip Neri in Uckfield and St John the Evangelist in Heron's Ghyll. 'I have been a deacon for twenty-three years, and have been in Uckfield for twenty years'. During his time as a Deacon he has been chaplain to front-line emergency staff of the South East Coast Ambulance Service and a chaplain to front-line emergency staff of the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
