Dear St. Philip’s Families
This week St Philip’s welcomed Father Stephen into school to help us celebrate the beginning of Advent. Our Year 6 students have taken part in the Big Sing and won first place in Indoor Athletics, and we look forward to our Parish Christmas Fair tomorrow. We have been blessed with new additions to our playground, courtesy of Alex Foot, Jo Craft, Andy McGibbon and Barrie Woollard.
Thank you for all your continuing support for our school.
With very best wishes
Jacqueline Zadeh, Interim Headteacher
The Big Sing
Year 6 made us all very proud of them - with their stupendous singing - and their exemplary behaviour, at The Big Sing, held at the Assembly Hall, Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday. A huge round of applause to all those from Year 6 who participated, and to their teachers and supporters too. Well done St Philip’s - again!
St Philip’s Parish / School Christmas Fair
We very much hope you will join us for our Christmas Fair tomorrow. Rumours abound that not only are there a wonderful range of seasonal stalls, but also a very special visitor might be dropping in too and that’s not just Father Stephen!
Uniform and Coats
Please help us to ensure that your child is wearing the correct attire for school. Lots of children are still coming to school without coats, even though they are on our very cold and windy playground for a significant part of the day. As regards to uniform, whilst we appreciate that school shoes may take a week or so to replace, items like the appropriate jumper and school tie are readily available from our school uniform shop. Can we please make sure, too, that children have footwear that is appropriate for the school stairs and playground; ‘designer’ items don’t usually have that in their specification.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
A thousand thanks from all of us at St Philip’s to Jo Craft and Alex Foot – our talented artists - who have done the most amazing job of our school space. Jo and Alex have given up their holidays and Saturdays to make our playground a real play space for all our children – and on behalf of all of them thank you so much they love it! And another round of applause for Mr McGibbon and Mr Woollard, who, after their first fabulous creation of our St Philip’s stage, have now moved on to create the most magnificent pergola and beginnings of our Peace Garden. It has been wonderful to see how the children have so enjoyed this new play space. St Philip’s is just so lucky to have such tremendously willing and talented people ready and to give their time up for all of our children.
School Meals and Parent Pay
Please can we remind you to check your account weekly and tick your child’s name for the day that they wish to have a meal? Please also keep your account in credit. This will save the kitchen and office staff time.
