Dear St Philip’s Families,
The end of the summer term is always an incredibly busy time in school. We have had a multitude of events with still more to come!
Catholic Life
Year 6 attended the Good Shepherd Liturgy last week. This is an annual celebration of our Catholic schools in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. They learnt about the symbolism of the Sacred Heart and were guided in a Mass by Bishop Richard Moth. It was an uplifting and joyous occasion, after which they enjoyed a picnic in the grounds of Worth.
Year 6 had a lovely, spiritual day at Mayfield School last week. Pupils were thinking about the transitions they will soon be making into secondary school and reflecting on their journeys through primary school. Ronan, the Chaplain at Mayfield, commented: "The boys and girls from St Philip’s are welcome here anytime! They were a credit to themselves, their families and their school. I found them to be a thoroughly impressive group."
Welcome
Last week, we welcomed our new Reception parents at our annual New Parents’ meeting. It is always exciting to welcome new families to our community and I know Year 5 will be looking forward to getting their Special Friends. On Tuesday 12th July, we have invited them to a Teddy Bear’s Picnic with our current Reception parents; this will be a lovely way for us to start to get to know each other.
