Dear St Philip’s Families,
It has been a busy hive of activity in school for the last two weeks – so much better than last year!
Catholic Life
Yesterday was the Feast of the Ascension, the fortieth day after Easter Sunday, which commemorates the Ascension of Christ into heaven. Usually we would celebrate with a Mass altogether, although this was impossible this year.
As we were unable to meet to celebrate the Good Shepherd Liturgy in person this year, Year 6 recorded their part on IMovie. The Good Shepherd Liturgy is a celebration of Catholic schools in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. It is usually an opportunity for us to gather together with all the schools in the Diocese and it will be wonderful when we can do this next time. The children wrote and read bidding prayers, with a sung response of the Celtic Rune, ‘Lord Hear our Prayer’. It was very moving and we look forward to sharing the whole Liturgy when it is edited together.
